Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Water & Utility Operations Executive / Supervisor for our Alcohol Manufacturing / Distillery Plant.

The candidate will be responsible for the complete operation and monitoring of the plant's water treatment and utility water systems, including the DM Plant, RO Plant, river water pumping station, pipelines, overhead water tanks, water storage and distribution systems, and plantation drip irrigation.

The person will ensure uninterrupted and adequate water supply for distillery operations, plant utilities, domestic requirements and plantation irrigation.

Key Responsibilities
1. DM Plant Operation

- Operate and monitor the DM (Demineralization) Plant used for plant/process requirements.
- Monitor water quality, regeneration cycles, chemical dosing, pressure, flow and output.
- Maintain DM Plant operating parameters and daily log sheets.
- Identify operational abnormalities and coordinate corrective action.

2. RO Plant Operation

- Operate and monitor the RO Plant and associated equipment.
- Monitor RO feed water, pressure, flow, recovery and product-water quality.
- Ensure proper membrane cleaning, flushing and routine maintenance.
- Maintain RO production and operational records.

3. Water Quality Management

- Monitor the quality of river/raw water, treated water, RO water and DM water.
- Conduct routine water-quality checks as per plant requirements.
- Maintain water-quality testing records.
- Ensure water supplied for relevant distillery/plant utility applications meets the required specifications.
- Immediately report abnormal water-quality results to the Plant Head.

4. River Water Pumping Station

- Take complete operational charge of the river water pumping station.
- Operate and monitor pumps, motors, valves and related equipment.
- Ensure reliable pumping of raw water from the river to the plant/storage facilities.
- Monitor pump performance, pressure, flow and operating hours.
- Identify leakages, blockages and equipment issues and coordinate maintenance.

5. Pipeline & Water Transfer System

- Monitor the complete raw-water and utility-water pipeline network.
- Ensure proper operation of valves and water-transfer systems.
- Monitor for leakage, blockage,



pressure loss and pipeline damage.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance with the engineering/maintenance team.

6. Overhead Tank & Water Storage

- Monitor overhead water tanks, ground-level storage tanks and reservoirs.
- Maintain sufficient water storage for distillery operations, utilities, domestic use and plantation requirements.
- Control filling, transfer and distribution of water.
- Maintain daily water-level and consumption records.

7. Complete Plant Water Supply & Utility

- Take responsibility for the complete water supply and distribution system of the alcohol manufacturing plant.
- Ensure uninterrupted water availability to required plant areas.
- Coordinate water requirements with Production, Utilities, Maintenance and other departments.
- Operate pumps and valves according to plant requirements.
- Monitor daily water consumption and identify unnecessary water losses.

8. Drip Irrigation & Plantation

- Take complete responsibility for the plantation drip-irrigation system within the plant premises.
- Operate irrigation timers, controllers, solenoid/manual valves and pumps.
- Manage irrigation schedules for different plantation zones.
- Ensure proper ON/OFF control of water supply to plantation areas.
- Monitor drip lines, filters, pressure and water distribution.
- Identify leakage, blockage and uneven irrigation and arrange corrective action.

9. Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting

- Conduct regular inspection of pumps, motors, valves, tanks, pipelines and water-treatment equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of RO/DM plants and pumping systems.
- Attend to basic operational breakdowns and escalate major technical issues.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around water-treatment and pumping areas.
- Follow plant safety procedures and SOPs at all times.

- DM Plant operation
- Water-quality parameters
- River-water pumping
- Pump operating hours
- Tank water levels
- Water consumption
- Pipeline/valve issues
- Water-treatment chemical consumption
- Drip-irrigation schedules
- Plantation water supply
- Breakdown and maintenance activities
- Daily utility operations

Required Experience & Skills

- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in water treatment / utility operations.
- Experience in an Alcohol Manufacturing Plant / Distillery / Sugar Plant is strongly preferred.
- Practical experience in RO and DM Plant operation.
- Experience with industrial water pumps, motors, valves and pipelines.
- Knowledge of water-quality testing and basic water-treatment processes.
- Experience with water storage and distribution systems.
- Knowledge of drip irrigation, timers, controllers and irrigation valves.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic operational issues independently.
- Valuable knowledge of utility operations, preventive maintenance and safety procedures.
- Must be comfortable working at a distillery/manufacturing plant site.

Important

This is a hands-on plant utility position. Candidates with only general office/administrative experience or purely domestic RO/water-treatment experience will not be suitable.

The selected candidate must be capable of independently taking charge of the complete water utility system of an alcohol manufacturing/distillery plant, from river-water pumping → treatment → storage → distribution → plantation irrigation.
