- Perform welding of MS, SS and other piping materials as required.
- Carry out , TIG welding and/arc welding based on project requirements.
- Read and understand piping drawings, fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Perform pipe-to-pipe, pipe-to-flange and pipe-to-fitting welding.
- Ensure proper alignment, fit-up, tack welding and final welding of piping components.
- Carry out welding work for water treatment plant piping systems.
- Check weld joints for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut and incomplete penetration.
- Maintain proper welding parameters and follow approved welding procedures.
- Use welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment and other fabrication tools safely.
- Perform grinding, cleaning and finishing of welded joints.
- Coordinate with fabricators, fitters, electricians and supervisors during fabrication and installation.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety at the workplace.
- Follow company safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Complete assigned fabrication and welding work within the required time.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of pipe welding and fabrication.
- Ability to understand basic fabrication and piping drawings.
- Knowledge of pipe alignment, fit-up and welding techniques.
- Ability to work with MS and SS pipes.
- Good knowledge of welding tools and equipment.
- Ability to identify and rectify common welding defects.
- Valuable teamwork and discipline.
- Willingness to work at project sites when required.
Qualification
- ITI / Welder Trade certification preferred.
- Relevant welding certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in pipe welding/fabrication preferred.
- Freshers with relevant ITI qualification and practical welding skills may also be considered.
