Technical Assistant to MD – Job Description

Industry: Steel Fabrication
Location: Chennai (regular travel to Pondicherry required)
Reports to: Managing Director (MD)
Experience Required: 8–10 Years
CTC Budget: ₹6–10 Lakhs per annum
Travel: Willing to travel domestic and international as per business requirements

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical and administrative support directly to the MD
- Coordinate and follow up on production, fabrication, and project-related matters
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and MIS data for MD's review
- Liaise with plant, engineering, and project teams to track progress and resolve issues
- Accompany MD on Plant visits (including regular visits to Pondicherry plant) and business trips (domestic/international – If required)
- Draft correspondence, technical notes, and minutes of meetings
- Coordinate with vendors, clients, and consultants as directed by MD
- Handle confidential technical and business information with discretion




- Assist in monitoring project timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical
- 8–10 years of experience in any steel manufacturing/fabrication company (mandatory)
- Strong technical understanding of steel fabrication processes
- Willingness to travel extensively — domestic and international
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid passport (mandatory, given international travel requirement)
