Role Purpose
The Application Development Senior Analyst designs, builds, tests and supports secure, reliable digital solutions that meet business and customer needs. Working within an Agile delivery team, the role provides hands-on development expertise, takes ownership of moderately complex work, contributes to technical decisions and helps improve engineering quality, delivery flow and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse user stories and technical requirements, identify dependencies and translate them into maintainable solution designs.
Develop, configure, test and document application features using approved engineering standards, patterns and platforms.
Own assigned work from refinement through deployment and early-life support, providing clear progress, risk and dependency updates.
Produce clean, reusable and secure code or configuration, with appropriate unit tests and evidence of quality.
Participate actively in peer reviews and respond constructively to feedback; support less-experienced developers through knowledge sharing and practical guidance.




Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Engineering, Architecture, Security, Platform and Production Support colleagues.
Use source control and CI/CD practices effectively, supporting automated quality gates and reliable, traceable releases.
Troubleshoot defects and production issues using logs, monitoring and diagnostic tools; contribute to root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
Create and maintain concise technical documentation, including solution notes, support guidance and operational runbooks.
Contribute to sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives, and act on agreed continuous-improvement actions.
Protect customer and company data by following privacy, security, access-control and change-management requirements.
