The Opportunity

Community Centres are part of Council's Inclusive Communities Department and have close links with Neighbourhood Houses and other community services operating in the municipality. They play an significant role strengthening and building social capital, improving health and well-being, resilience, cohesion, connectedness, empowerment and belonging in local communities.

The Community Liaison Officers provide high quality administrative and customer service support,



contributing to Council's three community centres being safe, inclusive, and welcoming places for the local community. As part of the Community Strengthening team, the Community Liaison Officers use community development principles to support diverse community members to access the centres, as well as providing a range of information on other community facilities, programs and services across the municipality.

We are looking to recruit the following positions:
- Community Liaison Officer, Maribyrnong Community Centre (permanent, full-time);
- Community Liaison Officer, Community Strengthening* (permanent, 0.8EFT); and
- Community Liaison Officer, Community Strengthening* (casual)
