Role & responsibilities

1. Patient Care and Clinical Management

- Conduct detailed clinical assessment of ICU patients upon admission.
- Monitor vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, and neurological status regularly.
- Develop and implement treatment plans under the guidance of intensivists and consultants.
- Prescribe medications, fluids, blood products, and supportive therapies as per protocols.
- Review laboratory and radiological investigations and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

2. Emergency and Critical Care Procedures

- Attend and manage medical emergencies within the ICU.
- Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Assist in or perform procedures such as:
- Endotracheal intubation
- Central venous catheter insertion
- Arterial line placement
- Nasogastric tube insertion
- Foley catheterization
- CPR and defibrillation

- Stabilize critically ill patients before consultant review.

Monitoring and Documentation

- Maintain ICU progress notes and treatment charts.
- Document patient condition, interventions, and clinical outcomes.
- Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
- Report any deterioration in patient condition immediately to the intensivist or consultant.

4. Coordination and Communication

- Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, laboratory personnel, and other departments.
- Communicate patient status and treatment plans to relatives as authorized by hospital policy.
- Facilitate referrals and multidisciplinary consultations.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Min. of 3 yrs- 5 yrs of ICU experience

2. Experience in a multispeciality unit is preferred but not limited to

3. MBBS is a must.

4. Should be able to communicate clearly
