Job Summary
The role will be responsible for managing day-to-day Finance & Accounts activities of the Chennai Centre, including accounting, AP/AR, banking and treasury, payroll accounting, statutory compliances, GST, SOFTEX/RBI requirements, audit support, and related finance operations.
The candidate should be hands-on and capable of independently managing assigned finance activities while coordinating with internal teams, banks, consultants, auditors and statutory authorities/service providers.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Handle month-end/year-end closing activities, including accruals, depreciation, forex accounting and GL reconciliations.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including invoice processing, payments, collections follow-up and reconciliations.
- Process domestic and foreign remittances, employee claims, travel advances and settlements.
- Manage banking and treasury activities, including bank reconciliations, cash-flow monitoring, fund transfers, foreign currency transactions, Fixed Deposits and FIRC follow-up.
- Handle GST compliances, including input tax credit, RCM, monthly/annual requirements, GST refund claims and coordination for GST assessments/notices.
- Support TDS, PF, ESI and other applicable statutory compliances and payments, including coordination with consultants.
- Prepare and submit SOFTEX filings and coordinate with STPI/AD Bank for certification, closure and RBI-related requirements.
- Handle client invoicing, including generation of e-invoices, accounting of receipts and maintenance/reconciliation of AR.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and accounting of payroll and employee-related transactions.
- Coordinate statutory, tax, GST and other audits, including preparation of schedules,
reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Manage employee timesheet reconciliations and related PMO coordination.
- Prepare Purchase Orders/Work Orders and support finance-related vendor activities.
- Maintain finance records and documentation and ensure adherence to company policies and applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax consultants, LIC, ERP support providers and other external stakeholders as required.
- Support other Finance & Accounts activities assigned from time to time.
- Candidate Criteria
Qualification
- CA Inter/CMA Inter preferred along with B.Com/M.Com.
Experience
- 4–6 years of relevant post-qualification/work experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Preference for candidates from IT/ITES, shared services, service/export-oriented organisations or similar corporate environments.
- Candidate should have independently handled a meaningful portion of the finance function rather than having experience restricted to only AP, AR or bookkeeping.
Essential Experience / Skills
- Strong hands-on accounting and month-end closing experience.
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS and other statutory compliances.
- Experience in AP/AR, banking, payments and reconciliations.
- Experience in audit coordination and preparation of audit schedules.
- Valuable working knowledge of Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Ability to independently coordinate with banks, auditors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
- Good communication, documentation and follow-up skills.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Experience with SOFTEX, STPI, FIRC, AD Bank and RBI-related export compliance.
- Experience in GST refund claims, assessments/notices and annual returns.
- Exposure to treasury/Fixed Deposit management and foreign remittances.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision or similar ERP.
- Experience in payroll reconciliation and statutory payments.
