JD: JD Application Developer
Key Responsibilities
Analyse, understand, and support the existing Java/J2EE and Documentum application codebase.
Perform reverse engineering of legacy applications to understand business functionality, application flows, dependencies, and integrations.
Work with Documentum repositories, workflows, APIs, content management components, and integrations.
Troubleshoot application issues and perform detailed root-cause analysis (RCA).
Analyze existing Java code and identify potential issues, technical debt, and areas requiring modernization.
Support production incidents, application defects, batch failures, and integration issues.
Analyze application interfaces and understand dependencies between Java, Documentum, databases, APIs, batch processes, and external systems.
Work with SQL and relational databases to troubleshoot data-related issues and validate application behavior.
Understand existing batch jobs, schedulers, interfaces, file processing, and downstream/upstream system dependencies.
Review application logs and technical artifacts to identify the root cause of issues.
Support application deployments, configuration changes, and setting-related troubleshooting.
Document the existing application's functionality, architecture, dependencies, interfaces, workflows, and technical gaps.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, cloud, and business teams to resolve issues.
Provide technical recommendations for application modernization, cloud migration,



and legacy component replacement.
Support migration of legacy application components to AWS/cloud-based architecture where applicable.
Participate in technical discussions around application decomposition, modernization strategy, and migration planning.
Required Technical Skills
Documentum
Strong hands-on experience with OpenText Documentum.
Understanding of Documentum repositories and content management.
Experience with Documentum workflows and APIs.
Experience troubleshooting Documentum-related application issues.
Understanding of Documentum integrations with Java applications and external systems.
Java/J2EE
Strong experience with Java/J2EE development and maintenance.
Ability to read, understand, debug, and modify existing Java code.
Experience with legacy Java frameworks and application architectures.
Understanding of application servers, web applications, services, and integrations.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Database / SQL
Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Ability to analyze queries, data relationships, and application-to-database interactions.
Experience troubleshooting data-related application issues.
Integration / Interfaces
Experience analyzing REST/SOAP APIs, interfaces, batch jobs, file-based integrations, and system dependencies.
Ability to trace end-to-end application flows across multiple systems.
Understanding of upstream/downstream dependencies.
AWS / Cloud
Exposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-based application architecture.
Understanding of concepts such as application migration, cloud integration, APIs, storage, compute, and databases.
Experience supporting legacy application migration
