Job Summary

The Building Security Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all security operations within a commercial building or portfolio of buildings, ensuring the safety and security of occupants, assets, and property while maintaining a professional and welcoming setting.

Emergency Response & Crisis Management

- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios (fire, medical emergencies, natural disasters, security threats)
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services
- Lead emergency response drills and training exercises for building staff and tenants
- Serve as primary point of contact during security incidents and emergencies

Technology & Systems Management

- Oversee security technology systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems
- Ensure all security equipment is properly maintained, tested, and functioning optimally
- Evaluate and recommend recent security technologies and system upgrades
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all security-related incidents and activities

Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure compliance with all applicable security regulations, building codes, and industry standards




- Prepare regular security reports for building management and stakeholders
- Investigate security incidents and prepare detailed incident reports

Stakeholder Communication

- Serve as primary security liaison for building tenants and management
- Conduct security awareness training for building occupants
- Communicate security policies and procedures to all stakeholders
- Address tenant concerns and requests related to security matters

Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with security management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Crisis management and decision-making capabilities under pressure
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills
