Role Overview:
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Physics Expert (AMO / Optical Properties of Materials) to work on a contract basis. The position is listed on the Micro1 platform and is fully remote. This role involves performing high-level quantitative analysis, modeling, and evaluations in atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics and optical properties of materials to support cutting-edge AI benchmarks and scientific research.

Key Responsibilities:
• Solve and formulate advanced theoretical and computational problems in AMO physics and optical material interactions.
• Evaluate, verify, and annotate complex scientific calculations and simulations for accuracy and determinism.
• Review optical models, spectroscopic data, and electromagnetic field interactions against empirical standards.
• Create rigorous rubrics and technical documentation detailing problem solutions and failure modes.




• Collaborate with cross-functional AI research teams to validate scientific reasoning in frontier LLMs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, or related field with a focus on AMO physics.
• Deep understanding of quantum optics, atomic spectroscopy, photonics, and dielectric/optical properties of materials.
• Experience using scientific modeling tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, COMSOL).
• Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and scientific technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently on open-ended scientific evaluation problems in a remote workplace.
