About Team: The Language AI Services team builds a platform of reusable, scalable micro services for linguistic
content processing and analysis, using applied AI and Machine Learning. Our systems include automated post-editing (APE), automatic quality evaluation (Auto-LQA), terminology discovery, LLM config orchestration, and multilingual NLP pipelines. Engineers own the full cycle: from research investigation and PoC through feature development, QA, and sprint review presentation.

Job Summary: As an AI Engineer at Lionbridge (India), you will both build and investigate developing features
and micro services within our Language AI Services platform while running applied NLP research that feeds directly into what you and the team ship. You will write production-ready code in Python and C#, build and run QA test cases, prototype new approaches through PoCs, evaluate large language models for localization tasks, and present your findings at sprint reviews. This role suits engineers who are equally comfortable implementing solutions and exploring new ones.

Face to face round Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain backend microservices and NLP pipelines in Python and C# (.NET), with a focus on LLM integration and linguistic processing.
- Investigate and evaluate new approaches LLM models, prompt strategies, quality metrics, non-LLM alternatives and produce clear research conclusions that translate into engineering work.
- Build and run QA test cases for platform features; maintain test coverage and report issues with clear reproduction steps.
- Develop proof-of-concept implementations to validate new ideas (e.g., model integrations, orchestration patterns, caching strategies).




- Present research findings and PoC results at sprint reviews, communicating results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate across engineering and research to bridge investigation and implementation: turn a research conclusion into a shipped feature.
- Investigate and resolve production issues: concurrency bugs, performance bottlenecks, LLM integration failures.
- Work with Azure cloud services (App Service, Azure Functions, Service Bus, CosmosDB) and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Contribute to code quality through peer review, unit testing, and adherence to team standards.

Skills

- Solid Python development experience for NLP/ML pipelines, scripting, and LLM integration (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic SDKs).
- C# / .NET experience in a production microservices or API environment is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience evaluating large language models: prompt engineering, chain-of-thought, quality/cost/latency trade-offs.
- Familiarity with NLP and localization concepts: MT quality metrics (BLEU, COMET, MetricX, TER), translation memory, post-editing, terminology extraction.
- Experience writing and running automated tests (unit, integration); familiarity with test frameworks (pytest, xUnit, or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud services: App Service, Azure Functions, Service Bus, CosmosDB, Azure DevOps.
- Ability to investigate technical problems independently, document conclusions clearly, and communicate them to the team.
- Experience with Git-based workflows, pull request reviews, and agile/scrum delivery.
