Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead - Java with 8-10 years of robust experience in Java/J2EE application development and preferably in the Life Insurance domain. The candidate will be responsible for technical leadership, solution design, application development, code quality, team management, and delivery of scalable and secure insurance applications. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, SQL, and database technologies, along with a good understanding of Life Insurance business processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the technical design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of Java-based applications.
- Analyze business and functional requirements and convert them into scalable technical solutions.
- Design and develop Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST API, and Microservices-based applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers.
- Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles, and best practices.
- Conduct technical discussions, estimations, task allocation, and implementation planning.
- Design application components, APIs, services, database interactions, and integration solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex application, production, performance, and integration issues.
- Coordinate with Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, Project Managers, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Ensure application performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Support SIT, UAT, production deployment, and post-production activities.
- Perform root-cause analysis for critical production issues and implement permanent fixes.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks and provide appropriate mitigation.
- Ensure timely delivery of technical components as per project milestones.




- Maintain technical documentation including design documents, API specifications, and technical solution documents.

Required Technical Skills

Core Java

- Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, Java 8/11/17 or above.
- Strong understanding of: OOPs, Collections, Exception Handling, Multithreading, Java Streams, Lambda Expressions, Design Patterns, SOLID principles.
- Good understanding of JVM and application performance optimization.

Spring Technologies

- Strong experience with Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with: Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Cloud
- Experience developing RESTful web services and APIs.
- Good understanding of Microservices architecture.
- API Microservices
- Design and development of REST APIs and Microservices.
- Good knowledge of JSON/XML.
- Experience with API authentication and authorization.
- Understanding of API Gateway, service discovery, configuration management, and inter-service communication.
- Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI is preferred.

Database

- Robust knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with databases such as: OracleMS SQL ServerMySQLPostgreSQL
- Good understanding of database design, joins, indexes, stored procedures, and query optimization.

DevOps / Cloud - Good to Have

- Good understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP is an added advantage.
- Understanding of application deployment and monitoring.

- Lead a team of Java developers and provide technical direction.
- Conduct technical design and solution walkthroughs.
- Review code and ensure development quality.
- Define development standards and best practices.
- Perform technical estimation and participate in sprint planning.
- Identify reusable components and opportunities for technical improvement.
- Mentor developers on Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and coding standards.
- Coordinate with QA teams to resolve technical defects.
- Support production releases and critical issue resolution.
- Ensure technical deliverables meet defined quality and performance standards.
