Phlebotomist Job Profile

Location: Hospital
Department: Laboratory / Diagnostics

Key Responsibilities:

- Collect blood samples from patients as per prescribed tests and procedures.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labelling of samples.
- Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures safely and professionally.
- Handle and transport collected samples to the laboratory as per SOP.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of sample collection.
- Follow infection control, hygiene, and biomedical waste management protocols.
- Ensure patient comfort and address patients politely during the blood collection process.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, laboratory staff, and other hospital departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and availability of blood collection equipment and consumables.
- Follow all hospital policies, laboratory SOPs, and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

- DMLT / Relevant Phlebotomy or Healthcare Qualification preferred.
- Experience in blood collection and sample handling.
- Positive communication and patient-handling skills.
- Ability to work rotational or night shifts, as required.Role & responsibilities
