Role & responsibilities

- Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs at the workplace.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, workplace audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are completed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and factory regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, training, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions and prepare reports.
- Maintain EHS records, registers, permits, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Implement emergency preparedness plans, including fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency response procedures.
- Coordinate fire safety equipment inspections, first-aid arrangements, and emergency response activities.
- Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, emissions, water consumption, and pollution control as applicable.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
- Monitor work permits for activities such as hot work, height work, confined-space entry, and electrical work.
- Ensure proper chemical handling, storage, labeling, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) availability.
- Track safety performance indicators such as incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and corrective actions.
- Support internal and external EHS audits and statutory inspections.




- Promote a strong safety culture and continuously improve workplace safety standards.

Preferred candidate profile

- Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline. Additional certification in Industrial Safety / EHS preferred.
- Experience: 25 years of relevant experience in EHS, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety, environmental compliance, fire safety, and occupational health.
- Hands-on experience in HIRA, JSA, risk assessment, incident investigation, and CAPA.
- Good understanding of Permit to Work (PTW) systems, PPE requirements, contractor safety, and emergency response.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, safety training, and emergency drills.
- Knowledge of relevant Factories Act/Rules and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is preferred.
- Good communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively interact with employees, contractors, supervisors, and management.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and report preparation.
- Preferred: Experience handling statutory inspections, fire safety systems, chemical safety, waste management, and environmental monitoring.
- Personal attributes: Proactive, safety-conscious, disciplined, observant, and capable of driving a strong safety culture.
