Role & responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

- Lead legacy framework and platform modernization assessments and strategy definition.
- Architect microservices solutions for complex monolith decomposition at enterprise scale using domain-driven design (DDD) and bounded contexts.
- Drive monolith to microservices and database decomposition programs using strangler fig, branch-by-abstraction, and parallel run patterns.
- Lead REST/API development on Lambda and API Gateway with SAM; design GraphQL APIs with AppSync where appropriate.
- Design enterprise-scale event-driven architectures using EventBridge (event buses, rules, scheduling), Step Functions (standard and express workflows), SQS/SNS, and Kinesis for streaming.
- Implement service mesh patterns using AWS App Mesh for inter-service communication monitoring and control.
- Configure service discovery using AWS Cloud Map for dynamic microservice endpoint management.
- Define database modernization strategies and govern schema decomposition; leverage DMS and SCT for data migration.
- Establish modernization frameworks, patterns, and standards.
- Lead and mentor modernization teams, driving technical excellence.
- Implement observability for modernized microservices using CloudWatch, X-Ray (end-to-end tracing), and CloudWatch Container Insights.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize modernization roadmaps.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,



or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience in modernization or transformation.
- Deep expertise in microservices architecture, domain-driven design, and bounded context decomposition.
- Proven experience leading monolith decomposition and database separation programs.
- Extensive backend development experience with Java, Python, Node.js, or equivalent.
- Deep experience with REST/API development on Lambda, API Gateway, and SAM.
- Extensive experience with event-driven architectures (EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, Kinesis).
- Strong proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, Fargate).
- Experience with service mesh (App Mesh) and service discovery (Cloud Map).
- Experience with database modernization, DMS (AI-assisted schema conversion), and SCT.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of Agile Methodology and Practices.
- Robust understanding of application security and cloud governance.

Nice to Have

- AWS Professional or Specialty certifications.
- Experience with AI tools in development lifecycles (GitHub CoPilot, Cursor, Amazon Q Developer) and brought in efficiencies.
- DevOps experience (CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Experience with AWS Application Discovery Service and Migration Hub.
