Job Description: Head of Supply Chain

Position Overview

Position: Head of Supply Chain / GM Supply Chain Management

Location: Hyderabad

Reports To : Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Industry Focus: Engineering, Heavy Manufacturing, Electrical Steel Laminations

Core Commodities: Electrical Steel (CRNO/CRGO), Shafts, Rings, Forgings, & Fasteners

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Head of Supply Chain / GM Supply Chain to lead end-to-end procurement, strategic sourcing, subcontracting and multi-plant supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead strategic procurement of CRNO/CRGO electrical steel and critical components such as shafts, rings, spacers, plates, fasteners & cleats.
- Develop domestic & global vendor sourcing strategies and build a reliable multi-source supplier network.
- Drive cost reduction, TCO, supplier development and commercial negotiations.
- Lead Make vs. Buy analysis for machining, stamping and critical components based on cost, capacity, quality and delivery.
- Manage subcontracting, tooling, capacity planning and external manufacturing partnerships.
- Coordinate supply planning across multiple manufacturing plants to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
- Drive S&OP;, JIT, Lean inventory management and working-capital optimization.
- Lead supply chain, procurement, logistics and stores teams.
- Strengthen SAP/Oracle ERP,



supply-chain visibility, MIS and digital processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality, statutory, import/export and supplier governance requirements.

Ideal Candidate

Candidates with strong experience in Strategic Procurement + Component/Machining Sourcing + Make-or-Buy + Multi-Plant Supply Chain, preferably from electrical steel, laminations, engineering, automotive components or heavy manufacturing industries.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering is mandatory. A Post-Graduate Degree/MBA in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Logistics from a premier institute is highly valued.
- Experience Required: 15 to 20 years of core manufacturing supply chain experience, with at least 5 years' operating at a Senior Manager or Head of Department level.

- Technical Domain Knowledge:
- Prior background in stamping units, lamination manufacturing, transformer/motor core industries, or heavy precision machining is mandatory.
- Direct experience in technical sourcing of forgings, steel bars, shafts, and industrial rings.
- Robust capability to interpret complex engineering schematics, metallurgical properties, and precision tolerances.

- Core Competencies: Advanced negotiation skills, financial modeling for capital decisions, risk mitigation planning, and cross-functional leadership.
