We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive TaxCompliance & Reporting Specialist to manage Australian tax compliance,investor reporting, and tax documentation for our clients. The role involvescoordination with cross-functional teams, external advisors, and fundadministrators to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and reporting.
Key Responsibilities: -
Annual Compliance & Filings: Coordinateand review Australian Federal and State tax filings ensure timely and accuratedisclosures.
Quarterly Estimates: Calculateand file estimated tax payments; maintain supporting workpapers andreconciliations.
AAS/AASB Audit Support: Assistwith tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and footnote documentation foraudits.
ATO Exemptions: Monitoring& determining eligibility for exemptions like remitting amounts to the ATOvia single touch payroll
Tax Structuring: Prepareequity playbooks and tax memos; support deal structuring and tax-efficientdistribution planning.
Tax Authority Correspondence: Trackand respond to ATO Tax legislations/state notices; escalate and coordinate withlegal and external advisors.
Tax Form Management: Prepareand update Australian tax forms (TFN, NAT0 660, NAT 0659, NAT 71121); ensurecompliance and documentation accuracy.
Withholding & Exemptions: ApplyPAYG withholding rules (CFI, Treaty Relief, interest withholding taxexemptions, etc); determine exemption eligibility and maintain accuraterecords.
Legal Document Integration: UpdateOntra (or similar platforms) with tax terms, filing statuses,
and compliancecheckpoints from legal agreements.
Client Coordination: Serveas a key contact for tax-related client communications; ensure timely updatesand document uploads to internal and external platforms.
Data Reconciliation: Reconcileinvestor/entity data between internal systems and external platforms.
PFIC Statement Management: Request,track, and manage PFIC statements for relevant entities.
Key competencies: -
7+ years of experience in Australiantaxation, preferably in tax compliance, legal/tax advisory firms.
Strong knowledge of Partnership taxation, Individualtaxation, Trust, PAYG Reporting and Investment fund structures (FoFs, PrivateEquity, Credit).
Hands-on experience with Australianwithholding tax rules and exemption certifications & notice management
Familiarity with tax compliance software(e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess, OneSource, Enterprise tax reporting and compliance)and tax research tools (e.g., CCH iKnowConnect, Checkpoint, ATO Website).
Excellent analytical, organizational, andcommunication skills.
CA, CPA Australia preferred.
Excellent in MS Excel to process diverse data sets
Ability to work effectively under tightdeadlines,s hould be an independent contributor and his/herwork require minimal QC
