Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Disaster Recovery (DR) Drill Support Engineer with 1-2 years of experience to support Disaster Recovery planning, execution, and validation activities. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity (BCP), IT infrastructure, and application support. The candidate will assist in planning and executing DR drills, documenting outcomes, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring business continuity objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of Disaster Recovery (DR) drills.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, application, database, and network teams during DR activities.
- Execute DR runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) during planned drills.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health before, during, and after DR exercises.
- Validate application availability, data integrity, and business functionality following DR execution.
- Document DR test results, observations, issues, and recommendations.
- Track and follow up on action items identified during DR drills until closure.
- Maintain DR documentation, recovery procedures, contact lists, and configuration details.
- Assist in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and DR documentation updates.
- Participate in root cause analysis for issues identified during DR testing.
- Support periodic audits and compliance requirements related to Disaster Recovery.
- Coordinate with business users for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) after DR execution.





Requirements

- Basic understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including Servers, Storage, Networking, and Operating Systems.
- Basic understanding of application architecture and production support processes.
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of SQL databases for basic validation activities.
- Valuable understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Experience in documenting technical procedures and reports.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work during planned DR activities, including weekends or off-business hours when required.

- Understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Shell, or Python).
- ITIL Foundation Certification (Preferred).
