Roles & Responsibilities:
The Nursing In charge is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and management of nursing services in the Oncology and Multi-Department units. The role ensures delivery of high-quality patient care, adherence to clinical protocols, and effective utilization of resources.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Patient Care Management
- Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care.
- Monitor patient condition and ensure timely intervention.
- Supervise medication administration as per physician orders.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
2.2 Staff Management & Supervision
- Supervise nursing staff across all assigned departments.
- Prepare and manage duty rosters and shift allocations.
- Conduct staff performance evaluations and provide guidance.
- Facilitate orientation and ongoing training of nursing personnel.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, and professional conduct.
2.3 Oncology-Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure safe preparation and administration of chemotherapy.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications.
- Implement infection control measures for immune compromised patients.
- Provide education and counselling to patients and families regarding cancer care.
2.4 Multi-Department Coordination
- Coordinate nursing services across ICU, wards, OPD, and emergency units.
- Facilitate smooth patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintain effective communication with doctors and allied healthcare staff.
2.5 Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Enforce infection control practices and patient safety guidelines.
