Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Head of Information Technology to build and own Olives technology backbone as the company enters its next phase of growth.

This is a high-ownership leadership role responsible for setting up core technology infrastructure, establishing standards across our head office and properties, and building a scalable technology support function. You will also have the freedom to pilot new tools and technologies that improve how we operate.

We are looking for someone who combines strong technology fundamentals with a builders mindset—someone comfortable creating systems, managing partners and experimenting with new technology, rather than simply maintaining what already exists.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Information Technology Strategy and Function Building

- Develop and execute Olive’s overall information technology strategy across the head office and all operating properties
- Build the internal and outsourced support structure required as Olive scales from 75 to more than 145 operational properties
- Establish information technology policies, service standards, escalation processes and vendor service-level agreements
- Create and manage annual technology budgets, procurement plans and technology roadmaps
- Work closely with leadership, operations, finance and property teams to align technology priorities with business requirements

1. Asset Management

- Own the lifecycle of all technology hardware and software assets across the head office and properties, including procurement, tagging, deployment, maintenance and retirement
- Establish and maintain an accurate central asset register
- Manage technology vendors, service providers and annual maintenance contracts
- Develop a cost-effective refresh and replacement cycle for laptops, networking equipment, point-of-sale systems, property systems and other technology assets
- Define clear ownership between Olive, property owners and third-party service providers

1. Information Technology Services and Products – Head Office

- Own core head-office infrastructure, including email, networks, cloud services, websites and internal platforms
- Manage cloud infrastructure and software subscriptions used by different teams




- Establish and manage information security, access controls, backups, data policies and disaster-recovery processes
- Build a structured process for employee onboarding and offboarding, including devices, accounts and system access
- Establish a reliable help desk and support model for day-to-day head-office requirements

1. Information Technology Services and Products – Property Level

- Define and standardise Olive’s property-level technology stack, including networking, wireless internet, property management systems, point-of-sale systems, guest-facing technology, surveillance systems and security systems
- Create standard technology specifications and implementation checklists for new property openings
- Ensure consistent and reliable technology implementation across Olive Hotels, Open Hotels and Spark by Hilton properties
- Coordinate with property owners, operators, Hilton and other technology partners where systems or infrastructure are provided by third parties
- Build a scalable remote and on-site support model so property teams have quick access to technology assistance
- Work with operations teams to identify recurring technology issues and implement long-term solutions

1. Business Systems and Documentation

- Maintain strong working knowledge of the systems used across the company, including property management, customer relationship management, finance, operations, communication and reporting systems
- Document technology architecture, systems, workflows, access controls and vendor relationships so that knowledge is not dependent on individuals
- Review existing systems and identify opportunities for consolidation, integration or replacement
- Evaluate and recommend new tools as the company’s requirements evolve
- Ensure that system implementations are properly planned, documented and adopted by users

Cybersecurity and Data Governance

- Establish appropriate cybersecurity standards across the head office and properties
- Manage user access, device security, backups, data retention and incident-response procedures
- Conduct periodic reviews of technology risks and vulnerabilities
- Ensure employees and property teams receive basic cybersecurity and data-protection training
- Work with external specialists where required to strengthen Olive’s security framework

1. Innovation and Piloting

- Proactively identify and pilot current technology that can improve efficiency at the head office and property level
- Explore artificial intelligence tools, automation and large language model integrations across email, internal workflows, reporting, guest services and operations
- Run small, fast pilots at selected properties before recommending wider rollout
- Define clear success measures for each pilot and evaluate its commercial and operational impact
- Bring a builder’s mindset—comfortable experimenting, iterating and course-correcting quickly
- What We’re Looking For:

- Between 6 and 10 years of experience in information technology management, systems administration, technology infrastructure or a related role
- Experience managing technology for a multi-location business; hospitality, real estate, retail or co-working experience would be an advantage
- Strong grounding in networking, cloud infrastructure, email administration, cybersecurity and information technology service management
- Experience managing technology vendors, annual maintenance contracts and hardware and software budgets
- Ability to build processes, support structures and technology standards rather than only resolve individual technology issues
- Genuine interest in artificial intelligence, automation, modern cloud-based software platforms and emerging technology
- Robust ownership mentality and the ability to independently lead information technology for a rapidly scaling organisation
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with both senior leadership and non-technical property teams
- Willingness to travel to properties as required
