Role & responsibilities

Handle day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping of the business.

- Maintain accurate records of sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
- Manage GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances, including timely filing and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain bank, cash, customer, and vendor reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate stock and inventory-related accounting, including jewellery purchases, sales, returns, and adjustments.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and vendors whenever required.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, statements, and MIS for management review.
- Monitor receivables and payables and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Verify invoices, vouchers, bills, and supporting documents before accounting entries.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of financial information.
- Assist management with financial analysis, costing, profitability, and other accounting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and maintain a high level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 25 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the jewellery, retail, or precious metals industry.
- Strong knowledge of Tally Prime, ERP/accounting software, MS Excel, GST, TDS, and basic taxation.
- Experience in inventory accounting, stock reconciliation,



gold and jewellery purchase/sales entries, and customer/vendor ledger management.
- Familiarity with bank reconciliation, cash management, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and analytical skills.
- Honest, reliable, organised, and capable of handling confidential financial information.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with management, auditors, vendors, and consultants.
- Candidates who can join at short notice and have experience with jewellery business accounting systems will be preferred.
