Production Manager - Plastic Injection Moulding

Plant Head / Operations Head

Experience

10-15 years in plastic injection moulding (Automotive Tier-1 / Tier-2)

Role Objective

To plan, manage, and control production operations to meet SQDCM targets while ensuring optimal utilization of machines, manpower, and materials.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution
- Convert monthly and weekly PPC plans into daily execution
- Ensure achievement of production, dispatch, and inventory targets
- Balance machine loading, mould availability, and manpower
- Monitor OEE, cycle time, and productivity across shifts
- Reduce changeover and idle time

2. Injection Moulding Operations Management
- Oversee injection moulding machines (100T-800T or applicable)
- Ensure process stability and parameter adherence
- Approve process sheets and first-off samples
- Lead current mould trials, process tuning, and ramp-up
- Support PPAP, trial runs, and capacity validation

3. Quality & Customer Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Control Plans, SOPs, and PFMEA




- Drive rejection reduction, PPM improvement, and rework control
- Lead root cause analysis (Why-Why, Fishbone, 8D)
- Coordinate with QA for customer complaints and audits
- Ensure traceability and lot control

4. Cost, Productivity & Continuous Improvement
- Control scrap, rework, power consumption, and consumables
- Improve conversion cost and output per machine
- Drive Kaizen, Lean, and waste elimination projects
- Track cost-saving initiatives and productivity improvements

5. Maintenance & Tooling Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Improve MTBF and reduce MTTR
- Ensure availability and condition of moulds and auxiliaries
- Coordinate with Tool Room for mould repairs and modifications

6. Manpower & Team Leadership
- Lead production supervisors, engineers, and shift in-charges
- Ensure manpower planning, training, and skill development
- Maintain discipl
