Company Description Dharmalife is a social impact organization founded in 2009 that focuses on poverty alleviation and inclusive progress in rural India through livelihood creation, community development, and digital technology. The organization uses an entrepreneurship-based model to enable rural women to build sustainable livelihoods while connecting low-income households to socially impactful products and services. Dharmalife advances this model through digital tools, data-driven insights, innovation, and alliances with global partners.

Its work contributes to key Sustainable Development Goals, including Gender Equality, Livelihood and Digital Education, Clean Energy and Climate Action, and Health and Wellbeing. To date, Dharmalife has built a network of over 17,000 rural entrepreneurs, most of whom are women, reaching more than 13 million beneficiaries across 50,000+ villages in 13 Indian states.

Role Description The State Head – Uttar Pradesh (Programmes, Partnerships & Business) is a full-time, in office role based in Veraval, responsible for leading Dharmalife’s programmes, stakeholder partnerships, and business growth across the state. This role oversees planning and execution of rural livelihood and community development initiatives, ensuring alignment with Dharmalife’s social impact objectives and operational standards.

The State

Head manages state-level teams, sets performance targets, monitors key metrics, and supports field operations to achieve programme scale and quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining strategic partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, private sector organizations,



and community stakeholders to expand Dharmalife’s reach and impact. The role also involves identifying new business opportunities, managing budgets and resources, contributing to fundraising proposals, and reporting on programme outcomes to the leadership team.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong programme management and implementation skills, including experience in planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of large-scale social impact or development initiatives.
- Candidates should possess partnership development and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships with government agencies, NGOs, private sector partners, and community leaders.
- Candidates should possess business development and strategic planning skills, including experience in identifying growth opportunities, managing budgets, and supporting revenue or fundraising efforts.
- Candidates should possess team leadership and people management skills, including mentoring diverse teams, setting performance goals, and ensuring effective coordination across field locations.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English and comfort presenting to internal and external stakeholders; knowledge of local languages in Uttar Pradesh is an advantage.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and insights to drive decisions, improve processes, and enhance programme effectiveness.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in social work, development studies, rural management, business administration, or a related field is preferred, along with prior experience
