About the roleInventory Capital is building a contemporary platform for helping brands recover value from excess and dead inventory.

We are looking for a Social Media & Content Intern to take ownership of our presence across LinkedIn and Instagram. This is not a role where you will simply be given content and asked to post it.

We want someone who can think of what we should be talking about, turn those ideas into compelling content, design the posts, publish them, and continuously improve what we do.

You will get significant autonomy over the company's content and social media presence.

What you will do1. Develop content ideas

- Identify interesting topics, trends, stories and insights relevant to inventory, retail, fashion, finance, supply chains and working capital
- Come up with original content ideas for LinkedIn and Instagram
- Turn our internal knowledge, conversations and business developments into content
- Build a consistent content calendar

2. Create the content

- Write LinkedIn posts, Instagram captions and carousel copy
- Design carousels, graphics and other social content
- Use tools such as Canva, Figma, ChatGPT, Claude or other AI tools to create content where useful
- Experiment with different formats and creative styles
- Maintain consistency with the Inventory Capital brand

3. Manage our social media

- Manage the company's LinkedIn and Instagram accounts
- Schedule and publish content
- Write appropriate captions and hashtags
- Monitor engagement and audience response
- Track which content performs and use those insights to improve future content

4. Build our voice and presence





- Develop a distinctive voice for Inventory Capital
- Help position the company as a thoughtful player in inventory, working capital and retail
- Follow relevant companies, founders, investors and industry publications
- Identify opportunities for timely commentary and relevant content

5. Experiment We don't expect everything to work.

You should be comfortable trying:

- Different carousel formats
- Data and research-driven posts
- Industry insights
- Short-form video
- Memes or more creative formats when appropriate
- AI-assisted content creation

The goal is to figure out what gets attention and builds credibility, not simply to fill a content calendar. Who we are looking forWe care much more about initiative, taste and ability to learn than formal qualifications.

Requirements

- Strong written English and ability to communicate ideas clearly
- Good visual/design sense
- Comfortable creating content independently
- Familiarity with Instagram and LinkedIn
- Comfortable using Canva or similar design tools
- Willingness to use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini etc. to improve speed and creativity
- Curious about business, startups, finance, fashion, retail or technology
- Able to research a topic and turn it into an interesting piece of content
- Highly proactive and comfortable working with minimal supervision
- Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly

A big plus
- Existing portfolio of Instagram/LinkedIn content
- Experience running a college club, startup, creator account or brand page
- Basic knowledge of Figma, Photoshop or Premiere Pro
- Experience creating short-form video/Reels

You don't need to already be an expert social media manager. If you are someone who can actually think and research original content, write it, design it and publish it, we'd like to hear from you.
