About the RoleLabel Maninder Gulati is looking for an experienced Senior Merchandiser & Designer who can independently manage the complete product development journey across design, merchandising and production.

This is an end-to-end ownership role for someone who understands both the creative and commercial sides of fashion and can take a collection from initial concept and planning through sampling, development, production coordination and final execution.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working closely with designers, karigars, masters, vendors and production teams while ensuring that every product meets the brand’s standards for design, fit, craftsmanship, quality and commercial relevance.

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop seasonal, bridal, occasion wear and ready-to-wear collections.
- Conduct trend, market, customer and competitor research to identify relevant product opportunities.
- Develop concepts, mood boards, sketches and complete design directions for upcoming collections.
- Select and coordinate fabrics, embroideries, trims, colours, prints and surface developments.
- Prepare and manage tech packs, specifications and product development details.
- Oversee sampling from first development through fittings, corrections, approvals and final samples.
- Coordinate directly with karigars, masters, vendors, fabric suppliers and production teams.
- Ensure garment fit, construction, finishing, embroidery and overall quality standards are maintained.
- Manage multiple product developments and collection timelines independently.
- Plan merchandise assortments based on customer demand, price points, product categories and sales performance.




- Analyse bestsellers, slow-moving products and gaps within existing collections.
- Recommend new styles, categories, colours and product opportunities based on market and customer insights.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure approved designs are executed accurately and within timelines.
- Work closely with marketing and content teams for collection launches, shoots, product requirements and campaigns.
- Maintain consistency between the original design concept and final production output.
- Guide and coordinate junior designers, merchandisers and supporting team members where required.
- Take responsibility for resolving design, sampling and production-related issues during the development process.

Candidate Requirements




- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is mandatory.
- Preferred experience range: 5–7 years.
- Strong experience in fashion design, merchandising and product development.
- Hands-on knowledge of fabrics, trims, embroidery, garment construction and finishing.
- Strong understanding of sampling, fittings, tech packs and production processes.
- Ability to independently manage collections and multiple product developments.
- Strong aesthetic sense with an understanding of current fashion and consumer trends.
- Commercial understanding of product assortment, pricing, customer demand and sales performance.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on designer fashion environment.

Preferred BackgroundCandidates with previous experience in any of the following will be preferred:
- Designer labels
- Premium fashion brands
- Couture houses
- Bridal and occasion wear brands
- Luxury or premium apparel companies
- Multi-category fashion businesses
