MES Validation, Testing & Quality Assurance
- Test Strategy & Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for MES, SCADA, and Industry 4.0 applications, ensuring alignment with business, operational, and technical requirements.
- Manufacturing Process Validation: Validate end-to-end manufacturing workflows including production tracking,
OEE monitoring, downtime management, traceability, genealogy, work order execution, recipe management, and shopfloor reporting.
- Data Integrity & Business Rule Verification: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of manufacturing data across shopfloor systems, MES applications, historians, databases, and enterprise platforms.
- Comprehensive Test Execution: Perform Functional, System, Integration, Regression, Performance, and User
Acceptance Testing (UAT) across MES, SCADA, and Industry 4.0 applications.
- Standards & Compliance Validation: Verify compliance with ISA-95, ISA-88, GAMP5, and Industry 4.0 standards throughout solution development, deployment, and validation lifecycles.
Machine Connectivity & Integration Testing
- PLC & Equipment Connectivity Validation: Verify machine connectivity and data acquisition from Siemens,
Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Omron, and other industrial control systems, ensuring reliable communication between equipment and digital applications.
- Industrial Protocols Testing: Validate communication and data exchange across OPC-UA, OPC-DA, MQTT,
Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet networks to ensure robust and secure shopfloor connectivity. Validate
Legrand Internal communication across industry-standard manufacturing protocols including Euromap63, Euromap77, and
MTConnect where applicable.
- Kepware & Edge Connectivity Validation: Test Kepware server configurations, tag quality, data refresh rates,
communication resilience,
and end-to-end PLC-to-MES data flows.
SCADA, MES & IT/OT Integration Testing
- Ignition Platform Validation: Test Ignition Gateway, Vision, Perspective, Historian, Reporting, Alarm
Management, scripting components, and dashboard functionality to ensure system reliability and performance.
Validate Ignition web services, APIs, and third-party system integrations to ensure secure and reliable information exchange across manufacturing and enterprise environments.
- Enterprise Integration Validation: Validate integrations between MES, SAP, ERP, WMS, LIMS, historians, and other enterprise applications through APIs, web services, and middleware platforms.
- IT/OT Data Flow Verification: Ensure seamless bidirectional data exchange between operational technology and enterprise systems while maintaining transactional integrity and traceability. Validate backup, restore, High
Availability (HA), failover, and Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios to ensure business continuity and operational resilience.
Database Testing, Analytics & Reporting
- Database Validation: Perform backend validation using Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases,
including SQL query execution, stored procedure validation, view and trigger verification, ETL testing, historian data validation, data reconciliation, and data integrity checks.
- Manufacturing KPI Validation: Verify calculations and reporting accuracy for OEE, MTBF, MTTR, downtime,
throughput, scrap rate, production efficiency, cycle time,
and other manufacturing performance indicators.
- Reporting & Analytics Verification: Ensure dashboards, reports, and operational analytics accurately reflect real time and historical production data.
Testing Automation, Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Test Automation Development: Support the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks for
MES, SCADA, APIs, database validation, and integration scenarios to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Regression Testing Automation: Identify opportunities to replace repetitive manual validation activities with reusable automated test assets that improve deployment quality and reduce validation effort.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyse recurring defects, quality trends, and testing bottlenecks to drive process improvements, standardization, and best practices across the Industry 4.0 delivery lifecycle.
Testing Deployment & Operational Support
- FAT, SAT & UAT Execution: Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT),
User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production readiness assessments.
- Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis: Manage defects through their lifecycle, perform root cause analysis,
support resolution activities, and verify corrective actions.
- Application Lifecycle Support: Monitor system quality, production telemetry, and operational performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and support business continuity.
Documentation & Knowledge Management:
- Maintain comprehensive test documentation, validation evidence, traceability matrices, defect logs, and operational handover materials to support audits and future enhancements.
- Prepare test evidence, validation records, compliance documentation, and audit-ready artifacts to support internal governance and regulatory requirements
