Role Summary

We are looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers and Design Leaders to join our growing R&D; teams at Havells CRI, Noida.

This role offers an opportunity to lead the design and development of creative products across multiple categories including:

- Electric Wiring Accessories (EWA)
- Domestic Switchgear
- Industrial Switchgear
- Small Domestic Appliances
- Large Appliances
- Fans & Air Movement Products
- Consumer Durable Products

Candidate will play a key role in product innovation, concept engineering, design validation, value engineering, and new product development while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

- Lead end-to-end mechanical design and development of new products and product platforms.
- Create innovative product concepts, detailed engineering designs, 3D CAD models, and manufacturing drawings.
- Develop products meeting performance, quality, reliability, safety, cost and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and design validation activities throughout the product development lifecycle.





New Product Introduction (NPI)

- Drive Stage-Gate based New Product Development processes.
- Work closely with Industrial Design, Product Management and Manufacturing teams for successful product commercialization.
- Develop prototypes and ensure timely validation through testing and design iterations.
- Support pilot production and production stabilization activities.

Engineering Excellence

- Perform Design FMEA, Risk Assessments and Design Verification activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T; application and root cause analysis.
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.

Technical Competencies

- Strong expertise in Product Design and Engineering Fundamentals
- Proficiency in Creo / Pro-E, Windchill, AutoCAD and other CAD tools
- Knowledge of DFMEA, GD&T;, Design Validation and Engineering Change Management
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as Injection Molding, Sheet Metal, Die Casting and Assembly Processes
- Experience in New Product Development (NPD) and Stage Gate Processes
- Value Engineering and Cost Optimization knowledge

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience

- 6 to 15 years of experience in Mechanical Product Design and Development.
- Experience in consumer products, appliances, switchgear, electrical products, automotive components, industrial products or related manufacturing industries.
- Exposure to complete product lifecycle development.
- Prior team handling experience preferred for Manager, Sr. Manager and AGM positions.

Education

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
- M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Candidates from Tier-1 and Tier-2 engineering institutes will be preferred
