As part of its Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme, Magic Bus supports women-led enterprises and collectives in building sustainable businesses by strengthening entrepreneurial capabilities, business systems, market access, branding, and digital enablement.
The India Marketing
Manager/Management Trainee will play a pivotal role in transforming grassroots women-led enterprises into commercially viable and scalable businesses by connecting them with markets, suppliers, business systems, and strategic partners.
Role Purpose The Management Trainee or Marketing Manager will serve as the central business enablement and coordination resource for women entrepreneur collectives across India. Working closely with programme teams, entrepreneurs, vendors, buyers, and ecosystem partners, the trainee will help establish structured business processes that improve operational efficiency, market access, profitability, and long-term sustainability. This role is ideal for an energetic and entrepreneurial qualified who enjoys solving business challenges, working directly with communities, and creating scalable livelihood models.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Enablement & Collective Coordination
- Serve as the primary business coordination point between Magic Bus and women entrepreneur collectives.
- Assess business models, production systems, challenges, and growth opportunities across different collectives.
- Standardize business processes, templates, and operating systems that can be replicated across multiple locations.
- Document successful business practices and facilitate knowledge sharing across states.
2. Business Operations Strengthening
Support collectives in establishing efficient business management systems, including:
- Production planning
- Order management
- Inventory management
- Costing and pricing
- Profitability analysis
- Customer feedback systems
- Delivery planning
- Business performance tracking Enable every collective to monitor production capacity, order fulfilment, pricing, revenues, and profitability.
3. Supply Chain & Vendor Development
Develop cost-effective and reliable sourcing systems by:
- Identifying suppliers for raw materials, machinery,
packaging, printing, and production inputs.
- Building a national vendor database.
- Comparing supplier quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and minimum order quantities.
- Supporting bulk procurement and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Strengthening supply chain efficiency across collectives.
4. Market Linkages & Business Development
Create recent market opportunities by building relationships with:
- Corporate buyers • Retail brands • Government procurement programmes • Institutional buyers • CSR partners • Trade fairs and exhibitions • Export agencies • E-commerce platforms Support collectives with: • Buyer presentations • Product catalogues • Quotations • Negotiations • Lead follow-up • Order conversion
5. Digital Business Enablement
Facilitate adoption of digital tools for business growth, including: • WhatsApp Business • Digital product catalogues • Social media marketing • Website updates • CRM and enquiry tracking • Online order management Ensure that digital platforms are actively used for customer engagement and sales.
6. E-Commerce Development
Support onboarding and growth on leading marketplaces such as: • IndiaMART • TradeIndia • Amazon • Flipkart • Government e-Marketplace (GeM) • Other relevant B2B and B2C platforms Responsibilities include: • Product listing • Content coordination • Pricing updates • Enquiry management • Customer response tracking
7. Capacity Building & Training
Coordination Coordinate with subject matter experts and business mentors to deliver practical training in: • Business planning • Sales and marketing • Digital marketing • Customer relationship management • Vendor management • Financial management • Business growth strategies Monitor post-training implementation and business outcomes.
8. Business Data Management & Reporting
Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor: • Sales performance • Production volumes • Customer orders • Vendor performance • Revenue growth • Business challenges • Key operational indicators Prepare periodic reports and business insights for programme leadership.
9. Product & Brand Development
Support collectives in improving market readiness through:
• Product positioning • Packaging improvements • Pricing strategy • Product catalogues • Customer feedback analysis • Brand storytelling • Market differentiation
Eight-Month Deliverables- PIP
Months 1–2 • Map all active entrepreneur collectives. • Conduct business diagnostics. • Develop vendor and buyer databases. • Identify operational and market gaps.
Months 3–5 • Strengthen procurement systems. • Build buyer networks and sales channels. • Support participation in exhibitions and business events. • Enable adoption of digital business tools.
Months 6-8 • Institutionalize standard business systems. • Improve revenue generation and market access. • Document scalable business models and best practices. • Develop growth roadmaps for each collective.
Qualifications • MBA (Marketing, Operations, Entrepreneurship, Rural Management or related disciplines) • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management or equivalent Fresh graduates with exceptional execution capability and entrepreneurial mindset are encouraged to apply.
