Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead purchase and supply chain activities across our solar projects. The role requires strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills and the ability to ensure timely availability of quality materials while controlling project costs and managing reliable vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Procurement planning: Develop project-wise procurement schedules based on approved BOQs/BOMs, budgets and execution timelines. Consolidate requirements across projects to improve purchasing efficiency.
- Solar equipment sourcing: Manage procurement of solar modules, inverters, module mounting structures, transformers, switchgear, cables, earthing materials, SCADA and other balance-of-system components.
- Vendor development: Identify, evaluate and onboard suitable manufacturers, suppliers and service providers. Develop alternative sources for critical items and maintain an updated vendor database.
- Commercial negotiations: Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate prices, payment terms, credit periods, delivery commitments, warranties and other commercial conditions.
- Purchase orders and contracts: Prepare and manage purchase orders and relevant work orders with clear specifications, scope, delivery schedules and contractual terms, following internal approvals.
- Delivery and quality coordination: Track manufacturing, inspections, dispatches and site deliveries. Coordinate with engineering, quality and project teams to ensure materials meet approved specifications and resolve shortages, damage or non-conformities.




- Logistics and inventory: Coordinate transportation, unloading requirements and material movement across sites. Monitor stock levels, reconcile surplus materials and facilitate transfers between projects.
- Cost and cash-flow control: Track procurement against project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities and coordinate purchase commitments and payment schedules with Finance.
- Vendor account closure: Support reconciliation of purchase orders, goods receipt notes and invoices; resolve commercial discrepancies and follow up on replacements, warranty claims and pending obligations.
- MIS and team management: Maintain clear reports on procurement status, delivery risks, budget variances, savings and vendor performance. Guide the purchase team and strengthen procurement processes, documentation and accountability.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline. An MBA or postgraduate qualification in Operations/SCM is an advantage.
- Hands-on procurement experience in solar EPC, rooftop or utility-scale solar projects, with a good understanding of equipment specifications and supplier markets.
- Proven ability to manage procurement for multiple projects and locations simultaneously.
- Solid negotiation, analytical and vendor-management skills, with an understanding of total landed cost and commercial terms.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP or procurement-management systems.
- Good written and spoken English, with effective coordination across vendors, project teams and Finance.
- High integrity, attention to detail, ownership and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Willingness to visit project sites and vendor facilities as required.
