Role Description The Manager QC and R&D; is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing quality control operations and leading research and development activities. This role manages laboratory testing, sampling plans, and product quality checks to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Manager coordinates R&D; projects, develops and validates new formulations, and supports product improvement initiatives in waterproofing membranes, coatings, adhesives, and related product lines.

Daily responsibilities include supervising QC and R&D; teams, preparing technical reports, maintaining documentation, collaborating with production and procurement, and resolving quality issues. The position also involves implementing quality systems, driving continuous improvement,



and supporting customer-focused technical trials and evaluations.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in quality control and assurance, including laboratory testing methods, process quality monitoring, and implementation of quality standards (e.g., ISO or equivalent).
- Candidates should possess skills in research and development such as formulation development, product testing, data analysis, and scaling up laboratory results to production environments.
- Candidates should possess technical skills related to bitumen-based products, waterproofing membranes, coatings, adhesives, and construction chemicals, including understanding of raw materials and product performance characteristics.
- Candidates should possess skills in documentation and reporting, including preparation of test reports, maintenance of QC records, and development of technical specifications and SOPs.
- Candidates should possess leadership and collaboration skills, including team supervision, cross-functional coordination with production and sales, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant educational background such as a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline is beneficial.
- Experience in manufacturing or construction chemical industries, and familiarity with Indian and international standards related to waterproofing and road products, is an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement are expected.
