OWS is hiring for a Engineering Maintenance Planner/ SAP PMS person for its reputed client at our client project site at Kolkata.

Role Description

This is a full time, on-site role based in the Kolkata Port Area. The role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities for container handling equipment, ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

- Develop preventive maintenance schedules for Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHCs), Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTGs), and spreaders.
- Plan corrective maintenance activities based on breakdown reports and inspection findings.
- Optimize equipment downtime by aligning maintenance with operational schedules.

SAP Proficiency

- Use SAP Plant Maintenance (PMS) module for work order creation, scheduling, and tracking.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement through SAP MM (Materials Management) module.
- Generate maintenance KPIs and reports from SAP for management review.

Equipment Knowledge

- Understand mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of MHCs, RTGs, and spreaders.
- Identify critical spare parts and ensure availability to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for specialized repairs and technical support.

Compliance & Safety

- Ensure maintenance activities comply with port safety regulations and OEM guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and certifications.
- Support audits and inspections by port authorities and classification societies.

- Work closely with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and procurement teams.
- Provide technical inputs for budgeting and cost control.

Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning within ports, terminals, or heavy equipment industries.
- Strong proficiency in SAP PMS & MM modules.
- Hands-on knowledge of MHCs, RTGs, spreaders, and container handling equipment parts will be preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
