IMEA (India, Middle East, Africa) India LIXIL INDIA PVT LTD Employee Assignment Hybrid Full Time 15 September 2026
Leader - India Business Service Centre (m/f/d)
Role Summary The Leader of the India Business Service Centre (ISC) is the senior leadership role at Lixil's Bengaluru delivery hub. The individual builds and runs a multi-disciplinary team that provides engineering execution, data management, process governance, and operational support services to R&D; and product functions across Lixil International. The role combines management of the India Business Service Center with active cross-functional coordination particularly across R&D; Engineering, CAE, PLM, and data management workstreams, ensuring that globally assigned work packages are delivered on time, to standard, and with full traceability.
This is a founding leadership position. The individual will shape the operating model, establish the teamculture, and represent the India centre in global programme governance. Beyond the immediate delivery mandate, we are looking for someone who brings maturity in managing professional teams, credibility with senior technical stakeholders in Europe, and the organisational instinct to build something that scales.
The position sits within the India Business Service Centre in Bengaluru and requires sustained, proactive coordination with R&D; and product leadership teams across Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the India Business Service Centre on a day-to-day basis: team performance, delivery quality, operating rhythms, and escalation management, serving as the single point of accountability for the centre in India.
- Coordinate delivery across R&D; Engineering, CAE (CFD/FEA), PLM, and data management workstreams:
track assigned work packages, maintain visibility of milestones and dependencies, and proactively resolve bottlenecks before they impact NPD timelines.
- Act as the primary interface between India-based team members and their functional counterparts and
team leads in Hemer and other global sites, ensuring that context, expectations, and feedback flow clearly in both directions.
- Own workforce planning and recruitment coordination for the centre: work with HR India and recruitment partners to staff open roles, onboard new hires effectively, and maintain a talent pipeline across the centre's core engineering and operational disciplines.
- Establish and maintain structured onboarding, knowledge transfer, and ways-of-working protocols, ensuring that each new team member reaches productive integration with their global counterpart within a defined ramp period.
- Manage the ISC cost centre: plan vs. actual tracking, monthly reporting to Finance India and R&D; leadership, and ongoing cost efficiency tracking against the centre's headcount and delivery benchmarks.
- Ensure centre operations comply with LIPL's internal policies, Lixil International's data security and IP standards, and applicable Indian regulatory requirements, coordinating with Legal, IT, and Facilities as the centre scales.
- Represent the India centre in global R&D; governance forums and senior leadership interactions; prepare structured reporting on centre performance, capacity status, and open risks for the Steering Committee and R&D; leadership distribution.
Your Profile Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- At least 12–15 years of professional experience in R&D;, engineering operations,
or technical programme management, with a minimum of 5 years in a team leadership or centre management role.
- Demonstrated experience building or managing a delivery team in an India-based shared services, GCC, or captive engineering centre context with direct accountability for headcount, quality of output, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Solid working knowledge of mechanical product development processes, including CAD/CAE workflows, PLM
(product lifecycle management), and stage-gate NPD execution, sufficient to coordinate effectively with engineers and identify delivery risks.
- Strong cross-functional coordination skills: track record of managing delivery across multiple disciplines and time zones, working with counterparts who hold functional authority without direct reporting lines to this role.
- Proficiency with PLM and engineering data management environments (SAP, or equivalent) and comfort with portfolio tracking tools and structured reporting for senior audiences.
- Self-driven and organised: able to maintain clarity across multiple parallel workstreams, follow through on commitments, and hold others to the same standard without being heavy-handed.
- Business-fluent English, written and spoken, transparent and direct communicator to represent the India centre credibly in front of senior European stakeholders.
Desirable
- Prior experience in the sanitary ware, fittings, consumer durables, or precision mechanical manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with PLM tools (CAD, ECM etc.), and with SAP ECM/ECN workflows for production documentation.
- Experience coordinating within a multinational or with European R&D; organisations operating across a formal stage-gate governance structure.
- Exposure to the Karnataka GCC policy landscape and the broader Bengaluru engineering talent market.
- Working knowledge of German is a plus.
