Manager – Learning Architect (Instructional Design Lead)

Location: India

Department: Talent Transformation / Learning Architecture

Reports to: Head of Learning Architecture

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Manager – Learning Design to lead a team of instructional designers and drive the creation of modern, high-impact learning solutions across global operations.

This role will combine instructional design expertise, adult learning theory application, strong project leadership, and advanced digital learning innovation to deliver scalable, business-aligned learning programs in a rapid-paced BPO environment.

The ideal candidate will bring both strategic leadership and hands-on design experience, with a strong command of emerging learning technologies (e.g., AI, VR, digital simulations) and exceptional writing standards aligned with the Chicago Manual of Style.

Key Responsibilities

1. Learning Design & Strategy

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end learning solutions across multiple global accounts
- Apply adult learning principles to create engaging, outcomes-driven programs
- Partner with stakeholders to align learning strategies with business goals and performance outcomes
- Ensure consistent application of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, Design Thinking)

2. Team Leadership & Capability Building

- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of instructional designers
- Establish design standards, governance, and quality assurance frameworks
- Drive capability-building initiatives to strengthen ID competencies and innovation mindset
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement

3. Project & Stakeholder Management

- Lead multiple concurrent learning projects with strong governance on timelines,



scope, and quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, QA, SMEs, Technology) across geographies
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress effectively
- Ensure efficient resource planning and workflow management

4. Content Development & Technical Writing

- Develop high-quality learning content adhering to Chicago Manual of Style standards
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and professionalism across all training materials
- Review and approve design outputs including facilitator guides, e-learning scripts, job aids, and assessments

5. Digital Learning & Innovation

- Champion modern learning solutions, including:
- E-learning (Articulate, Captivate, etc.)
- AI-based authoring tools
- VR/AR learning experiences
- Gamified learning solutions
- Digital simulations & scenario-based learning
- Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and frameworks
- Drive experimentation and innovation in learner experience design

6. Measurement & Continuous Improvement

- Define and track learning effectiveness using data-driven insights (Kirkpatrick, ROI models)
- Continuously enhance learning programs based on feedback, analytics, and business impact
- Establish KPIs for learning quality, engagement, and performance outcomes

Qualifications & Experience

Experience

- 8–12+ years in instructional design or learning experience design




- 3–5+ years in a leadership or managerial role
- Experience in BPO, shared services, or global operations environment preferred

Core Skills & Competencies

Instructional Design Expertise

- Deep knowledge of:
- Adult Learning Theory
- Learning Experience Design (LxD)
- Curriculum architecture
- Strong portfolio demonstrating diverse learning solutions

Technical & Digital Skills

- Proficiency in e-learning tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate)
- Exposure to AI-enabled learning tools and automation platforms
- Experience designing immersive learning (VR/AR), gamification, and simulations

Project Management

- Strong planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Experience managing large-scale, multi-geography projects
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management approaches is a plus

Communication & Writing

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced technical writing capability aligned with Chicago Manual of Style
- Ability to translate complex concepts into learner-friendly formats

Leadership & Stakeholder Influence

- Strong people management and coaching skills
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment
- High adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment
