Role: HRBP Stores
Role Purpose The Store HR will be the People & Culture representative on the ground for Foodstories’ Mumbai stores, responsible for ensuring a solid employee experience across the complete employee lifecycle. The role will work closely with Store Leadership and the Central People Office to drive hiring, onboarding, engagement, people processes, employee relations and day-to-day HR discipline at store level.
Key Responsibilities
- Hiring & Manpower: Track manpower requirements across Mumbai stores, support local sourcing and interviews, coordinate with Talent Acquisition, and ensure timely closure of store vacancies.
- Joining & Onboarding: Own the on-ground joining experience, documentation coordination, store induction and integration of new employees into the team and Foodstories culture.
- Employee Experience: Be a visible and approachable HR presence on the floor; conduct regular employee connects, understand team sentiment and identify concerns early.
- Employee Engagement & Culture: Drive store-level engagement initiatives, recognition programmes, huddles, celebrations and other People & Culture rituals consistently across stores.
- Employee Relations & Grievances: Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns and grievances; document issues accurately and coordinate with the Central People Office for timely resolution and closure.
- Attendance & People Operations: Ensure accurate attendance, leave, employee records, joining/exits and other store-level HR inputs are maintained and submitted within timelines.
- Performance & Discipline: Partner Store Directors and managers on employee performance, behavioural concerns, counselling and disciplinary matters, ensuring appropriate documentation and escalation.
- Learning & Development:
Coordinate store training calendars, nominations and attendance; track completion of LMS and on-ground learning interventions and support capability-building initiatives.
- Retention & Attrition: Conduct regular employee connects, identify potential attrition risks, support retention conversations and ensure exit feedback is captured.
- Grooming & Workplace Standards: Partner store leadership to maintain Foodstories standards around grooming, conduct, workplace behaviour and overall employee discipline.
- New Store Openings: Support manpower planning, hiring, onboarding, induction and employee readiness for new Foodstories store openings in Mumbai.
- People MIS: Maintain accurate store-level headcount, vacancy, joining, attrition, attendance, grievance and training data and provide regular updates to the Central People Office.
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate/Postgraduate in HR with 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, F&B; or another frontline-intensive environment.
- The person should be comfortable spending significant time on the store floor, working closely with employees and managers rather than operating HR only from a desk.
- Strong communication, employee-handling and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to manage sensitive situations with maturity and confidentiality.
- The ideal candidate should be approachable, hands-on, organised and proactive, with a genuine interest in people and culture.
What Success Looks Like A well-staffed and engaged store team, smooth joining and onboarding, strong employee connect, accurate People processes, early identification and closure of employee issues, lower avoidable attrition, consistent store HR practices, and a culture where employees know that Store HR is accessible, responsive and accountable for their experience at Foodstories.
