Fish Welfare Initiative (FWI) is hiring a Global Growth Manager or Lead to scope and identify the next country(ies) for FWI’s international expansion. We are seeking someone for this role who is experienced working internationally, skilled at both desk research and scoping visits, and comfortable with significant time traveling.

About Us

FWI works to improve the welfare of farmed fishes, so far mostly in India and China. This role scopes and recommends our next country (most likely somewhere in South or Southeast Asia), then helps stand up the early work there. You would be our first boots on the ground.

Responsiblities

What it actually involves

- Desk research and expert interviews to prioritize countries
- Scoping visits: farm visits, stakeholder meetings, working out what it would really be like to operate there




- A recommendation report to our Executive Director
- Supporting early operations in whichever country we pick, including hiring local staff

Requirements The one hard requirement is travel. You need 3+ months cumulative of living, working, or traveling independently outside your home country, including in lower-income countries and outside major cities. And you need to be able to spend 6+ months in-country (cumulative) over the first one to two years.

No aquaculture or animal advocacy background required.

The Fine Print The details:

- Full time, permanent, start ASAP
- Salary $25K to $70K, depending on experience level and cost of living
- Up to 40 days personal leave, parental leave, flexible schedule
- Open to any nationality. Visa, relocation, and housing support provided
