Role Description The General Marine Surveyor role at JB Boda Group is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The role involves conducting inspections and surveys of vessels, cargo, and marine-related assets to assess condition, compliance, and potential risk.

The General Marine

Surveyor will prepare detailed technical reports, document findings, and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients.

Responsibilities include coordinating with ship owners, insurers, port authorities, and other maritime professionals, as well as attending site visits at ports, shipyards, and other marine facilities.



The role also requires staying updated on relevant marine regulations and standards, maintaining accurate records, and supporting claims and underwriting teams with technical input.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of marine engineering, naval architecture, or maritime operations, with experience in vessel or cargo inspections and surveys.
- Ability to prepare clear, structured technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with marine safety regulations, classification society rules, and relevant international and national maritime standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with ship owners, insurers, port authorities, and other maritime professionals.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgment when assessing technical conditions and risks.
- Proficiency with basic office software and digital tools for reporting, data management, and communication.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally for in office inspections, often in varying environmental and operational conditions.
- Diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related maritime discipline; prior experience as a marine surveyor or in ship operations is preferred.
