General Manager – Finance & Accounts

Experience: 6–8 Years (Post CA Qualification)

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced General Manager – Finance & Accounts to lead the core accounting, taxation, compliance and financial control function at Pidge.

The role will have end-to-end ownership of accounting, book closure, financial statements, GST, TDS, income tax, statutory compliances, audits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and financial controls.

The ideal candidate should be a Chartered Accountant with strong hands-on accounting and taxation experience, capable of independently managing the finance and accounts function in a high-growth organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Book Closure

- Own end-to-end accounting and ensure accuracy and completeness of books of accounts.
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual book closure within defined timelines.
- Review general ledger, journal entries, provisions, accruals and accounting schedules.
- Ensure accurate accounting of revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities and provisions.
- Own balance-sheet reconciliations and ensure timely closure of outstanding items.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and accounting policies.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.

GST & Indirect Taxation

- Own end-to-end GST compliance across applicable registrations.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable returns.
- Manage GST reconciliations, input tax credit and vendor compliance.
- Reconcile GST returns with books of accounts and resolve mismatches.
- Manage GST notices, assessments, queries and other departmental matters in coordination with consultants wherever required.
- Stay updated on changes in GST regulations and ensure timely implementation.

TDS & Direct Taxation

- Ensure accurate deduction, deposit and reporting of TDS across applicable sections.
- Own preparation and filing of quarterly TDS returns and related reconciliations.
- Ensure timely issuance and reconciliation of TDS certificates.
- Manage Income Tax compliances,



advance tax calculations and tax provisions.
- Coordinate preparation and filing of corporate income-tax returns.
- Support tax assessments, notices and other direct-tax matters.
- Ensure reconciliation of Form 26AS, AIS, TIS and books of accounts, wherever applicable.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

- Oversee accounts payable, vendor accounting and payment processes.
- Ensure proper invoice accounting, documentation, approvals and tax compliance.
- Monitor accounts receivable, customer balances and collections accounting.
- Review vendor and customer reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of differences.
- Ensure proper ageing and provisioning for outstanding receivables and payables.

Audit & Statutory Compliance

- Lead coordination for statutory audit, tax audit and internal audit.
- Ensure timely preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with statutory auditors, tax consultants and other external advisors.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain proper financial records, documentation and audit trails.

Financial Controls & Processes

- Establish and strengthen accounting controls, maker-checker mechanisms and approval processes.
- Develop and maintain finance and accounting SOPs.
- Ensure appropriate controls around payments, collections, vendor onboarding and accounting entries.
- Identify control gaps and implement corrective measures.
- Drive automation and process improvements within the accounting function.
- Ensure integrity, accuracy and consistency of financial data across systems.

Cash, Banking & Reconciliations





- Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure timely closure of reconciling items.
- Monitor cash and bank balances and accounting of banking transactions.
- Coordinate banking documentation and finance-related operational requirements.
- Maintain appropriate controls over payments and banking transactions.

Team Management

- Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts team.
- Review work performed by team members and ensure adherence to closure and compliance timelines.
- Define clear responsibilities, KRAs and accountability within the team.
- Build strong accounting and compliance processes capable of supporting Pidge's scale.

Candidate Profile

- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- 6–8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in Accounting, Controllership, Taxation or Finance & Accounts.
- Strong hands-on experience in accounting, month-end closure and preparation of financial statements.
- Strong practical knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and statutory compliances.
- Strong understanding of general ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, provisions and balance-sheet schedules.
- Experience handling statutory audits, tax audits and auditor requirements.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Experience managing a finance and accounts team.
- Ability to independently own deadlines and statutory compliance calendars.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of financial accuracy.
- Experience in a startup, technology, logistics, e-commerce or high-growth organisation would be preferred.
