About the RoleThe Space Theory Studio is looking for a creative, sharp, and highly intuitive Interior Designer to join our growing studio on a remote contract basis.

We’re looking for someone who can look at a space, understand the design direction quickly, and turn ideas into thoughtful, visually compelling interiors. You should be someone who is naturally curious about design, has a strong eye for aesthetics, and can think creatively rather than simply execute instructions.

The ideal candidate is quick-witted, resourceful, detail-oriented, and confident sharing ideas. You should be comfortable taking a design concept and developing it into furniture selections, layouts, moodboards, elevations, and visual presentations.

What You’ll Do

- Develop interior design concepts for residential projects
- Create space plans, furniture layouts, moodboards, and design presentations
- Research and source furniture, lighting, décor, materials, and accessories
- Develop design concepts based on client requirements, budget, and aesthetic
- Create and edit presentations and visual boards in Canva
- Prepare drawings and layouts using AutoCAD
- Assist with 3D modeling and rendering as needed
- Research US furniture and décor brands and identify appropriate products
- Collaborate remotely with the studio on design concepts and project development
- Translate creative direction into polished, client-ready deliverables
- Stay current with US interior design trends, products, and styles

What We’re Looking ForMust-have:

- Degree or formal education in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
- Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, furniture selection, and styling
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Canva
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering




- Strong visual communication and presentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to understand design concepts quickly and execute independently
- Strong research and product-sourcing skills
- Good written and verbal English communication
- Ability to work consistently during US working hours
- Candidate must be based in India

US Design KnowledgeBecause our projects are based in the United States, familiarity with US interior design styles, furniture brands, retailers, sizing conventions, and design trends is highly desirable. If you don’t already have extensive knowledge of the US market, you should be genuinely willing and excited to learn and adapt.

Knowledge of brands such as West Elm, CB2, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Article, Lulu and Georgia, Room & Board, and similar US retailers is a plus.
