Freelance Business Consultant – Textile Manufacturing

About the ProjectWe are an established denim garment manufacturing business in India, with over 25 years of experience and multiple manufacturing units.

We are looking to engage an experienced Freelance Business Consultant to help us move from a traditional, promoter-driven operating model towards a more professionally structured and process-driven organization.

The objective is to establish a management structure where responsibilities, decision-making and accountability are clearly defined, allowing the promoters to focus more on the overall business rather than day-to-day operational matters.

Scope of EngagementThe consultant will work directly with the promoters to:

- Understand the current functioning of the business
- Identify areas where the business is dependent on the promoters
- Assess the existing management and organizational structure
- Identify gaps in responsibilities, authority and accountability
- Recommend an appropriate organizational and reporting structure
- Establish clearer ownership of functions and decisions
- Identify opportunities for better delegation and management
- Recommend practical systems and processes to improve accountability and efficiency
- Establish appropriate management review mechanisms
- Assist with implementing the recommended changes

The consultant will be expected to first understand the business and identify the underlying issues before recommending solutions.



We are not looking for a generic or pre-defined consulting framework. Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a consultant with practical experience in professionalizing traditionally managed businesses and establishing stronger management structures.

The candidate should have

- Experience working directly with business owners/promoters
- Strong understanding of organizational and management structures
- Experience improving business processes and management systems
- Practical implementation experience, rather than purely advisory experience
- Ability to assess an existing business and recommend practical improvements

Industry Experience – Robust PreferenceExperience in textile, garment, apparel, denim or other manufacturing industries will be a major advantage.

Candidates who have previously worked with manufacturing businesses moving from a traditional promoter-led structure towards a professionally managed organisation will be strongly preferred.
