Hive Inspect is a growing B2B SaaS platform built for home inspection businesses across the United States and Canada.

Our platform helps inspection companies manage their complete workflow, including scheduling, CRM, agreements, payments, report writing, mobile inspections, customer communication, automations, and AI-powered tools.

We are building AI into the core of Hive Inspect to help inspectors work faster, automate repetitive tasks, improve report quality, and deliver a better experience to homebuyers and real estate professionals.

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who will work at the intersection of software engineering, AI, product, and customers.

This is not a traditional engineering role where every assignment begins with a clearly defined ticket. You will work directly with customers and our internal team to understand real-world problems, design solutions, build and deploy them, and learn from how customers use them.

You may begin with a customer-specific workflow, develop an AI-powered solution or integration, and then help turn it into a scalable feature for the broader Hive Inspect platform.

This is a highly hands-on role with significant ownership. You will be expected not only to prototype solutions, but also to deploy, monitor, support, and improve them in production.

- Work directly with Hive Inspect customers to understand their workflows, technical challenges, and opportunities for automation.
- Build AI-powered workflows, agents, prototypes, automations, integrations, and internal tools.




- Take ambiguous problems from discovery through design, implementation, deployment, and iteration.
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain reliable backend services that support customer-facing workflows.
- Integrate Hive Inspect with third-party APIs and external platforms.
- Work with LLMs, prompting, structured outputs, tool calling, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Use modern AI coding tools to develop, debug, test, and improve software efficiently.
- Monitor deployed solutions, investigate production issues, and improve system reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex customer-specific, integration, and production issues.
- Work with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines to safely release and operate solutions.
- Collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams.
- Identify patterns across customers and turn one-off solutions into scalable product features.
- Help onboard larger and technically sophisticated customers.
- Lead technical conversations with US customers and explain solutions to nontechnical users.
- Contribute to technical documentation, reusable implementation patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Own problems from the initial customer conversation through deployment, monitoring, and follow-up.

- At least 4 years of professional software-development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
- Strong software-engineering, debugging, and problem-solving fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
- Solid experience with Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Professional experience with APIs, databases, backend systems, and modern web applications.




- Practical familiarity with LLMs and AI-powered software development.
- Ability to independently understand a business problem and translate it into a technical solution.
- Ability to build reliable solutions that can be deployed, monitored, and maintained in production.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Experience communicating directly with customers or nontechnical stakeholders.
- Comfortable independently leading live technical conversations with US customers.
- Currently located in India and able to work remotely.
- Able to work a full Pacific Time schedule, Monday through Saturday.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with substantial ownership.

This role is ideal for an engineer who wants broader ownership and customer exposure than a traditional software-engineering position provides.

You should enjoy building software, experimenting with AI, speaking with customers, understanding business workflows, and solving ambiguous problems quickly.

You won’t simply receive requirements and implement them. You will help discover the problem, design the solution, build it, deploy it, monitor it, and see how customers actually use it.
