Role Description The Financial Counselor at KIMS Hospitals will support patients and families in understanding and managing the financial aspects of their healthcare. This full time, in office role based in Hyderabad involves meeting with patients to explain treatment costs, insurance coverage, payment options, and hospital billing policies in a clear and empathetic manner.

The Financial

Counselor will verify insurance details, coordinate pre-authorizations, assist with claims processing, and work closely with the billing, admissions, and clinical teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The role includes preparing cost estimates,



guiding patients on government schemes or financial assistance programs, and helping set up payment plans where appropriate. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining detailed records, resolving billing queries, and providing consistent follow-up to support patients through the financial aspects of their care journey.

Qualifications

- Strong financial and analytical skills, including understanding of hospital billing, insurance processes, and basic accounting principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and supportively to diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in computer applications and hospital information systems, including data entry, documentation, and use of spreadsheets or financial software.
- Customer service orientation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities to handle sensitive discussions and address patient concerns effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, healthcare administration, business, or a related field; prior experience in a hospital, insurance, or healthcare finance setting is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of local insurance providers, government health schemes, and reimbursement processes; familiarity with Indian healthcare regulations is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain high standards of confidentiality and ethical conduct.
