Role Description The Engineer Forging role is a full-time, on-site position based in Jamshedpur. The engineer will oversee forging operations, including process planning, die and tool design coordination, and monitoring production activities for carbon and alloy steel components. Daily responsibilities include optimizing forging parameters, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality, and collaborating with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve throughput.

The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, supporting new product development, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for safety, efficiency, and cost control.



The engineer will also maintain documentation, support root cause analysis for defects, and contribute to maintaining compliance with relevant industrial standards.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of forging processes, metallurgical properties of carbon and alloy steels, and metal forming principles.
- Experience with production engineering, process optimization, and troubleshooting in a heavy manufacturing or forging environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 2D/3D models, and technical specifications for automotive and valve components.
- Understanding of quality control practices, dimensional inspection, tolerances, and relevant industrial standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME).
- Familiarity with maintenance coordination for forging presses, hammers, furnaces, and related tooling to ensure reliable operations.
- Proficiency in basic engineering software and MS Office; exposure to CAD or CAM tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with cross-functional shop-floor and management teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant industry experience in forging is preferred.
- Willingness to work in office in Jamshedpur and adapt to a fast-paced industrial environment with rotating or extended shifts as needed.
