The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and automated DevOps practices across the software delivery lifecycle. The role collaborates with development teams, infrastructure teams, business stakeholders,



and cybersecurity partners to streamline build, release, deployment, and environment management processes. The incumbent develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines, supports cloud and on-premises platforms, monitors system performance and reliability, and ensures solutions comply with CIBC's security, data governance, operational, and regulatory standards. The role also provides technical guidance on automation, deployment practices, and continuous improvement, while staying current with evolving DevOps tools, platform capabilities, and industry best practices. How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

- Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management processes across development, test, and production environments.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and supportable DevOps solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize infrastructure as code, environment configuration, and automated provisioning processes.
- Support and enhance integration between build tools, source control platforms, artifact repositories, testing tools, and deployment platforms.
- Lead and participate in reviews of deployment processes, automation scripts, and configuration changes to ensure adherence to best practices, operational standards, and security requirements.
- Partner with development and operations teams to improve release efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen overall platform resilience.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to team members on DevOps tools, automation practices, and operational excellence.
- Ensure all DevOps processes, tooling, and environments comply with CIBC's security, data governance, risk management, and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies, platform updates, automation capabilities, and industry best practices.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:





- Works closely with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure seamless deployment.
- Participates in meetings and discussions to evaluate new tools, techniques, and best practices for code deployment.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Technical discipline.

Must Have Skills:

- Strong experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX CLI, packaging, scratch orgs, metadata management)
- Hands-on proficiency in creating, configuring, and maintaining Azure DevOps and GitHub pipelines for CI/CD automation
- Solid understanding of Git version control and branching strategies (feature, release, hotfix)
- Experience integrating Salesforce deployments with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- Knowledge of build automation, artifact management, and deployment orchestration
- Familiarity with YAML pipeline definitions and scripting for automation tasks
- Ability to manage environment variables, secrets, and secure credentials within pipelines
- Experience with unit testing, static code analysis, and quality gates in CI/CD workflows
- Understanding of Salesforce metadata API and deployment best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot deployment failures and optimize pipeline performance
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting for CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative development environments

- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I or II
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- GitHub Actions Certification
