About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Loss Prevention Consultant to join our Asia Pacific Division, based in our Mumbai office. This is a full-time, permanent position designed for a qualified engineer eager to develop a career in loss prevention engineering. As a Loss Prevention Consultant at FM, you will play a vital role in assessing and mitigating risks associated with large commercial and industrial properties.

Your work will directly contribute to safeguarding clients' assets, reducing potential hazards, and ensuring business continuity. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge in a real-world context, working closely with clients, project teams, and industry experts to develop effective risk management strategies.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Working knowledge of construction practices, project execution, and assessment of flood, wind, and earthquake risks.
- 2–7 years of relevant experience with large EPC organizations, project or construction management firms, or engineering roles supporting large industrial facilities, petrochemical plants, or complex commercial projects.
- Experience in field or site engineering, with a proven ability to perform physical assessments.
- Demonstrated business acumen and project leadership skills,

including ownership of deliverables and cross-functional coordination.
- Willingness to travel and engage directly with clients, project teams, and site personnel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Efficient time management skills with the capability to work independently.
- Technical proficiency in engineering principles and a diverse knowledge base.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and related software tools.

Responsibilities The Loss Prevention Consultant will be responsible for conducting comprehensive site assessments and risk evaluations to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation strategies. Your daily activities will include visiting client facilities, performing physical inspections of properties—including roofs, water supplies, dust hazards, chemical storage, and storage arrangements—and evaluating risks associated with natural disasters such as floods, windstorms, and earthquakes. Initially, your work will be structured to support your learning and understanding of FM’s standards and industry best practices. You will work closely with mentors and participate in extensive training programs to deepen your knowledge of risk management principles. As you gain experience, your responsibilities will expand to include assessing larger and more complex properties, developing tailored risk mitigation plans, and communicating technical recommendations effectively to clients.

You will follow FM Engineering Standards and ensure all assessments and recommendations are aligned with company protocols. Building robust relationships with clients through effective communication and understanding their needs is essential.

Your role will involve documenting findings, preparing detailed reports, and presenting solutions that help clients minimize risks and protect their assets.

This position requires a proactive approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will also be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams, support project management efforts, and contribute to the continuous improvement of risk assessment procedures.
