Tipstat is building Alvoff.AI — an AI-native way to source industrial goods and services in India. A buyer describes what they need in plain language — "10 HP screw compressor with a refrigerated dryer", "NABL calibration lab in Pune" — and we find them real suppliers, real specs and real prices. The software does the searching. This role makes sure what comes out the other end is true, and that a buyer who wants to buy actually can.
You will be the person who owns the operating loop end to end: getting suppliers onto the platform, keeping their information honest, chasing quotes out of them, and staying with a buyer until their RFQ closes. It is not a support role. Nobody is going to hand you a queue.
What you'll own
- Supplier onboarding. Find and sign up suppliers in the categories we're pushing — industrial equipment, electricals, safety, packaging, lab, MRO, and services like calibration, fabrication and testing. Get them through registration, collect GST and certifications, and get a usable catalogue live.
- Catalogue and credential accuracy. Check that a supplier is who they say they are: that the phone reaches them, that the address is where they actually operate, that a claimed NABL or ISO certificate exists and hasn't expired. Reject what doesn't hold up.
- RFQ follow-up. When a buyer raises a requirement, get quotes back. That means calling suppliers, translating a buyer's spec into something a supplier can price, chasing the ones who go quiet, and closing the loop within the SLA.
- Buyer interaction. Understand what a buyer actually needs — often more than they wrote down — shortlist sensibly, explain the trade-offs between options, and follow through to order.
- Feeding the product. You'll see every place the platform gets something wrong before anyone else does. Log it, quantify it, and sit with the product team on what to fix first.
What we're looking for
- 1–3 years in operations at a B2B marketplace, industrial distributor, or trading company — or a technical background (diploma / B.E. in mechanical, electrical, production, civil) and real hunger to learn the commercial side
- Comfortable on the phone with a factory owner, a purchase head and a small-town fabricator in the same afternoon
- Fluent Hindi and English. A third language — Kannada, Tamil, Gujarati, Marathi — is a genuine advantage
- Enough industrial literacy to know that a 400 A MCCB and a 400 A contactor are different things, or enough curiosity to find out by Friday
- Organised in a boring, reliable way. Spreadsheets, trackers, follow-up dates that don't slip
This role is not for you if
- You want a pure sales role with a fixed script and a target sheet
- You want to work only over email and never pick up the phone
- You need the process to already exist before you can operate — here you will be writing it
- You're looking for a remote or work-from-home arrangement. This is in-office in Bengaluru
What you get
- ₹4–7 LPA depending on experience, plus a performance component tied to suppliers activated and RFQs converted
- The first ops hire on a small team — you set how this function works, and you grow with it
- Direct line to the founders and the engineering team; what you find on Monday gets fixed this sprint
- Real exposure to Indian industrial supply across a dozen categories, which is a rare and durable thing to know
