Role Description The Carrier Representative is a full-time remote role responsible for building and maintaining robust relationships with trucking carriers and other transportation partners. Day-to-day tasks include sourcing and onboarding carriers, negotiating rates, and securing capacity for customer shipments across various lanes and modes.

The Carrier

Representative will monitor active loads, provide updates, resolve service issues, and ensure on-time pickup and delivery in alignment with client expectations. The role involves frequent communication via phone, email, and digital platforms, along with accurate data entry and documentation in T3RA’s systems. This position also contributes to continuous process improvement, supports team goals, and helps uphold T3RA’s mission-driven service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrier Sourcing & Negotiation

- Proactively source new carrier partners through cold calling, networking, and market research.
- Lead pricing and capacity negotiations with carriers to secure competitive and sustainable freight rates.
- Conduct tough, transparent conversations with carriers to address performance, compliance, and rate alignment issues.

Carrier Vetting & Compliance




- Perform thorough vetting of carriers, including documentation verification, insurance validation, safety records, and operational capability assessment.
- Ensure all carriers meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and service-level expectations before onboarding.

Relationship Management

- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with carrier partners to ensure consistent service and capacity availability.
- Act as the primary point of contact for carriers, fostering open communication and trust while protecting company interests.

Market Awareness & Strategic Insight
- Monitor transportation market trends, rate fluctuations, and capacity shifts to identify risks and opportunities.
- Recognize potential market changes early and adjust carrier strategies accordingly to maintain operational stability.

Operational Excellence

- Manage multiple carrier conversations, negotiations, and follow-ups simultaneously with speed and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with operations, planning, and customer service teams to align carrier strategies with business needs.

Qualifications & Skills

- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to influence outcomes effectively.
- Confidence in cold calling and initiating professional conversations with new carrier partners.
- Ability to conduct difficult discussions while maintaining professionalism and relationships.
- Excellent multitasking and time-management abilities in a high-pressure environment.
- Sharp analytical mindset with strong awareness of logistics and freight market dynamics.
- 2–5 years of experience in carrier sales, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
- Proficiency with DAT & TMS platforms and good knowledge of freight operations.
