Role Description This is a full-time, in office role based in the Kolkata for an Auditor – HACT, Internal Audit, UN Projects. The auditor will plan, execute, and document internal audits and HACT (Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers) reviews for UN-related projects in accordance with applicable standards and client requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing risk assessments, testing internal controls, reviewing financial records and supporting documents, and evaluating compliance with donor and UN agency guidelines.
The role involves preparing clear working papers, drafting audit observations and recommendations, and contributing to structured audit reports for senior management and international stakeholders. The auditor will collaborate with engagement teams,
participate in client meetings, support follow-up on audit findings, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and UN frameworks.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong internal audit and risk assessment skills, including experience with audit planning, fieldwork, sampling, and documentation.
- Candidates should possess HACT and UN project audit-related skills, such as understanding donor-funded project frameworks, compliance testing, and review of grant utilization and reporting.
- Candidates should possess financial and accounting skills, including sound knowledge of accounting standards, financial analysis, reconciliation, and control evaluation.
- Candidates should possess report-writing and communication skills, including the ability to draft concise audit reports, present findings, and interact professionally with client stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess organizational and analytical skills, including attention to detail, data interpretation, time management, and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, CPA, or a master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field are preferred.
- Prior experience in internal audit, HACT audits, or donor/UN-funded projects will be an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in the Kolkata metropolitan area, collaborate within diverse teams, and adapt to dynamic client environments.
