Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining accurate ledgers, processing invoices, recording receipts and payments, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. This full time, on-site role based in Thane includes preparing monthly and annual financial statements, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, and institutional policies. The Accountant will reconcile bank and cash accounts, monitor expense allocations, and assist with internal and external audits.
The role also involves generating financial reports for management, supporting cost analysis for academic and operational initiatives,
and collaborating with internal stakeholders to strengthen financial controls and processes.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and practices, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and basic data analysis for reporting and reconciliation.
- Understanding of taxation, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to educational institutions or service organizations.
- Ability to perform accurate reconciliations of bank accounts, vendor statements, and student or client accounts, with attention to detail and error detection.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking to inform operational and strategic decision-making.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to interpret financial data and present clear insights to non-finance stakeholders.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with academic, administrative, and leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an educational institution, nonprofit, or services sector is preferred; familiarity with Indian accounting and tax standards is beneficial.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and ownership over deadlines and confidential financial information.
