Role Description The Academic Counsellor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi. The role involves meeting with students to understand their academic goals, strengths, and challenges, and providing tailored guidance on courses, study plans, and career pathways.

The Academic

Counsellor will conduct counseling sessions, maintain accurate student records, and follow up regularly to monitor progress. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with faculty and administrative teams, organizing information sessions or workshops, and responding to student and parent queries in a explicit and supportive manner. The role also involves using standardized processes, tools, and data to ensure consistent,



high-quality counseling and contributing to continuous improvement of EDHERO’s academic support services.

Qualifications

- Strong counseling and advisory skills, including the ability to listen actively, assess student needs, and provide practical academic and career guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain options clearly to students and families and to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Solid organizational and documentation skills, including managing student records, tracking follow-ups, and handling multiple cases simultaneously.
- Comfort with using basic digital tools and education-related software for scheduling, reporting, and online information sharing.
- Relevant educational background, such as a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field; prior experience in academic counseling or student services is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kochi, demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality, and maintain a student-centered, non-judgmental approach.
- Knowledge of current educational programs, admission processes, and career pathways; familiarity with local and international education opportunities is beneficial.
