Role Description The TPM / Business Excellence / OPEX Senior Engineer is a full time, on-site role based at SMAL’s Visakhapatnam facility. This position is responsible for driving TPM implementation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives across manufacturing units.

Day-to-day activities include analyzing process performance, facilitating Kaizen and improvement projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and tracking benefits from TPM and OPEX programs. The role also involves developing and standardizing best practices, conducting training and workshops on TPM tools,



and supporting ISO and safety management system compliance.

The Senior

Engineer will collaborate closely with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in line with SMAL’s world-class manufacturing goals.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills for data-driven problem solving, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for preparing reports, delivering training, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Candidates should possess Program Management skills to design, roll out, and sustain TPM, Business Excellence, and OPEX initiatives.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills to plan, execute, and track improvement projects within timelines and budgets.
- Candidates should possess Team Leadership skills to guide improvement teams, motivate participants, and build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Relevant experience in TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Production, or related discipline) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and safety practices in industrial settings.
- Proficiency in using MS Excel, data analysis tools, and presentation software to document and communicate results.
